GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound make it much easier to lose weight. The harder part is making sure what you lose is fat, not muscle. FITIV Pulse tracks your GLP-1 doses, estimated medication level, side effects, and weight trend in the same app that tracks your workouts, sleep, and recovery, so you can see the whole picture instead of just the number on the scale.
What Is a GLP-1 Tracking App?
A GLP-1 tracking app helps you stay on top of a GLP-1 medication: when you took each dose, when the next one is due, how you're feeling, and how your weight is changing. Many GLP-1 trackers stop there. FITIV adds the fitness side, including strength training, heart rate, sleep, and recovery, because those habits shape how your body changes during treatment.
Why Muscle Matters on a GLP-1
GLP-1 medications reduce appetite, which creates a calorie deficit. In a deficit your body draws on both fat and lean tissue. In the body composition substudies of the major clinical trials, lean mass (which includes muscle) made up roughly a quarter of the weight lost on tirzepatide (SURMOUNT-1) and close to 40% on semaglutide (STEP 1).
Muscle matters for more than looks. It supports strength, balance, and metabolic health as you age, and it's far easier to keep than to rebuild. It matters again if treatment ends: in the STEP 1 trial extension, people who stopped semaglutide regained about two-thirds of the weight they had lost within a year.
A 2025 joint advisory from four medical and nutrition societies (American Journal of Clinical Nutrition) calls out two habits for protecting muscle during GLP-1 therapy:
- Enough protein. Targets around 1.2 to 1.6 grams per kilogram of body weight per day have been proposed during active weight loss. Your provider may adjust this for you.
- Regular strength training. Resistance exercise is the main signal that tells your body to keep its muscle.
FITIV is built to help you keep both habits visible while the medication does its part. For the full picture, see our guide to keeping muscle on a GLP-1.
How FITIV Tracks Your GLP-1 Medication
The GLP-1 Medication card sits on your Today screen and opens into a full view of your treatment.
Log Every Dose
Log each dose with the medication, the dose in mg, and the date and time. Add notes to any dose; for injections you can also record the injection site and a pain level from 0 to 10. FITIV supports both injections and pills, on weekly, every-14-days, daily, or custom schedules. If you started your medication before you started using FITIV, it can estimate your past doses from your start date for you to review and edit; estimated doses don't count toward your streak.
See Your Estimated Medication Level
FITIV models each dose using your medication's half-life and adds them together, so you can see an estimate of how much is in your system:
- Dose Level: where you are in your current dose's cycle, from near 100% at the peak to 0% at the cycle's low point just before your next dose
- mg in system: the estimated amount of medication in your body right now
- Peak: the highest estimated level for this dose
- Medication level chart: your estimated level over time, from 7 days to a year, with a projected curve ahead
This can help you see why the medication may feel stronger on some days than others. It's an estimate, not a blood test, and FITIV reminds you to check with your healthcare provider before changing a dose, handling a missed dose, or stopping treatment.
Never Miss a Dose
A Next Shot (or Next Dose) countdown shows when your next dose is due. Optional reminders arrive at your scheduled day and time, with a "Did you take your dose?" follow-up an hour later if you haven't logged it. If a dose is overdue, FITIV shows it clearly along with the manufacturer's late-dose guidance. For injections, FITIV recommends your next site on a body map and nudges you if you keep using the same spot.
Taking Rybelsus or the Wegovy pill? FITIV shows the empty-stomach rules when you log a dose and can start a 30-minute countdown on your Lock Screen so you know when you can eat.
Track Side Effects
Log side effects as they happen, rated Mild, Moderate, or Severe. FITIV includes 20 of the most common ones, grouped into digestive, appetite, physical, and mental, including nausea, constipation, heartburn, fatigue, headache, food noise, and suppressed appetite. You can add your own, hide the ones you don't need, and see how symptoms change across your current dose and over time. Some symptoms show a reminder to contact your provider when they're rated more severe.
Results for Every Dose
After each dose, FITIV adds a Results card: your weight change for that dose cycle along with your average protein and calories, read from Apple Health. Daily medications get one card per week. Over time you can see how each dose and each week went, side by side.
For medications with published trial data, such as tirzepatide (SURMOUNT-1) and semaglutide (STEP 1), FITIV can also compare your weight loss with the average results from those clinical trials.
Weight Management: Goal, Pace, and Trend
GLP-1 tracking works together with FITIV's Weight Management card:
- Goal weight and weekly pace. Choose how fast you want to lose. FITIV labels the faster paces, so you know when a pace is above general guidelines and worth discussing with your provider.
- Projected finish date and milestones. See your estimated finish date and your next milestone along the way.
- 7-day moving average. Daily weigh-ins jump around with water and digestion. The smoothed trend line shows whether you're actually on pace.
- Apple Health sync. Weigh-ins you log in FITIV are saved to Apple Health, and readings from a smart scale or other apps show up automatically.
- Shareable progress cards and a weigh-in reminder.
Protecting Muscle With FITIV
The medication features show you the inputs; the rest of FITIV helps you act on them.
- Strength training. Log your sets, reps, and weights on iPhone or Apple Watch with FITIV's strength templates, and track your heart rate and training load for cardio days too.
- Protein from your food app. FITIV reads protein and calories from Apple Health, so any food-logging app that writes them there shows up in your per-dose Results.
- GLP-1 Insights. Optional AI insights look at your doses, estimated levels, weight trend, side effects, and recent workouts, including whether you've been strength training. They're designed not to tell you to start, stop, or change a dose; that's for your prescriber. Like any AI, they can get things wrong, and you can turn them off in settings.
- Recovery and sleep. Appetite changes and a calorie deficit can affect how you feel and recover. FITIV's sleep and recovery scores help you plan training around that.

Getting Started
If weight loss is one of your goals when you set up FITIV, it asks whether you're taking a GLP-1 medication. Answer yes, pick your medication, and set your dose schedule and reminders; your GLP-1 Medication card appears on your Today screen. You can also set it up later from the app.
FITIV's medication estimates and insights are informational and not medical advice. Your healthcare provider is the right person to guide your dose, your nutrition targets, and any side effects that concern you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which GLP-1 medications does FITIV support?
Zepbound, Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic, Saxenda, Victoza, Trulicity, compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, and retatrutide, plus the Wegovy pill, Rybelsus, and Foundayo (orforglipron). You can also add a custom medication or custom dose strengths.
How does FITIV estimate my GLP-1 medication level?
FITIV models each dose you log using that medication's known half-life and absorption, then adds the doses together to estimate how much is in your system over time. It's an estimate for understanding your dose cycle, not a lab measurement, and it doesn't replace guidance from your healthcare provider.
Can FITIV tell me if I'm losing muscle on a GLP-1?
No app can measure muscle directly; that takes a body composition scan such as DEXA. FITIV helps with the habits that protect muscle: it logs your strength workouts, shows your weight trend and pace, and reports average protein for each dose from Apple Health, so you can see whether those habits are in place.
Does FITIV work with Apple Watch for GLP-1 tracking?
Yes. The GLP-1 Medication complication shows your dose level and next dose on your watch face, and FITIV's Apple Watch app tracks your workouts, including strength training.
Can I log protein in FITIV?
FITIV reads protein and calories from Apple Health rather than logging food itself. If you track food in an app that writes protein and calories to Apple Health, that data appears in your per-dose Results.
Does FITIV remind me when my next dose is due?
Yes. Set reminders for your dose day and time, and FITIV will also check in an hour later if you haven't logged your dose.
